Description | They regretted having missed seeing Hatchett following their return from town. She is gratified to be counted as a friend in receiving a copy of the essay 'On the spikenard of the ancients', and she compliments him, saying 'he can strew the Path of Science with the sweetest flowers', and characterising him 'as one of the Magi of the nineteenth century'. They are sorry to hear of Mrs Hatchett's influenza. She sends regards from her father, mother and sisters. |
