Title | Letter from Wm Thos [William Thomas] Brande, Mint, to Charles Hatchett, Belle Vue, Chelsea |
Creator | Brande; William Thomas (1788-1866); British chemist |
Recipient | Hatchett; Charles (1765-1847); British chemist |
Date | 6 January 1836 |
Description | Hatchett will do as he pleases with the paper. Brande does not like it being in the appendix, which will consist of merely of tables. One advantage would be to give Hatchett time to complete it, in which case Brande will not need it for some months. If it is to be placed in 'the prefaratory history of the rise & progress of chemical philosophy', Brande would need it immediately, as he begins printing next Monday. Hatchett's theatrical proposal was met with cheering and their wish is to go to Drury Lane on Wednesday 13th. Brande will look for a box as soon as he can. The cake arrived and is handsome. He hopes Hatchett's cold has not returned, as Brande's has, 'my voice is like a cracked bugle'. He gives family news and sends good wishes to Mrs Hatchett. |
