Title | Letter from 'E Llandaff' [Edward Copleston, Bishop of Llandaff], Deanery, St Paul's, to Charles Hatchett, Belle Vue House, Chelsea |
Creator | Copleston; Edward (1776-1849); British bishop of Llandaff and moral philosopher |
Recipient | Hatchett; Charles (1765-1847); British chemist |
Date | 11 May 1836 |
Description | He intended to dine at the Club yesterday, giving him the opportunity to thank Hatchett for his work on the spikenard. The only passage he did not like was that upon the word 'aprons' in the Bible translation, which Copleston thinks more appropriate than 'girolle'. Business in the House of Lords prevented him from attending. |
