TitleLetter from Joseph Larmor, St John's College, Cambridge, to Charles Vernon Boys, 27 The Grove, Boltons, London
Date30 September 1904
DescriptionThe College has asked Larmor to find advice on the merits of Fellowship dissertations by F Horton [Frank Horton, later FRS (1878-1957)]. There is no doubt about his experimental skill, but he presents no theoretical evidence. Larmor asks if this is sufficient for a Fellowship of six years and notes that Horton has been in contact with Boys on the subject of experiments with quartz fibres.
