| Description | Thanks Boys for his great kindness. Boys's paper has convinced him of the need to reduce the weight of his apparatus. A less powerful magnet would improve matters and therefore the fibre would have to support 2 grams, be 0.005 mm in diameter and one foot in length. Boys's quartz fibres are revolutionary for measuring small forces. Gves instructions for sending the box of fibres and asks for the bill. Requests information on how to fix the fibres, having read that Boys uses shellac, but he would like more details. |
