He answers the eight questions posed by Rayleigh in the order in which they came: on Sir Charles Vernon Boys's work as a gas referee; as an expert witness; as a consulting engineer; and as a naturalist. Boys notes of the second edition of the book on 'Weeds', 'The entire stock was destroyed in an air raid'. He also comments on 'Tools and apparatus', 'Home', and 'Retired life' with a few private and personal remarks to Lord Rayleigh. |
