Discusses the generation of ultraviolet rays for practical purposes, and the difficulty of losing rays to glass and air. Notes that he used to employ a large quartz prism and thereby separate the ultraviolet rays from the rest of the light, allowing the patient to be screened from all the heat and ordinary light and exposed only to ultraviolet rays. |
