DescriptionOpen gully erosion of a peat slope on Isla Betrand, caused by sheep trampling the area. At this time, Isla Betrand was operated as the southernmost sheep farm in the world. Beyond the eroded gully, a fence can be seen near the top of the image to limit the roaming of the sheep. The ground is covered with Astelia plants, characteristic of the peat bogs in this area.
