Description | He called upon Mr. [Bryan] Donkin and communicated Harvey's desire regarding the telescope. He offered to send to Norwood one with the German glass, with another by [Charles] Tully having French glass. One needs adjustment and Bramah arranged to return one instrument now with him, and then he will forward the others. Bramah will then be able to bring the telescopes to Harvey. He would wish Mr. Donkin to be present at any trial, as Harvey would benefit from Donkin's discrimination in optical perfections. The achromatic quality of Donkin's instrument, which Harvey has seen, is its chief feature of excellence and he is not surpised that Walker's telescope is superior in definition. The German glass is less achromatic and will make a good test of the perfection of Walker's. He discusses this and concludes by offering his assistance.
