Companion of the Order of Canada: Honorary Doctorate of Science degree from University of Alberta (2006); Memberships: Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (1969); Hon RSNZ (1970); Medals/prizes: Royal Society of Canada's Willet G Miller Medal (1985); Geological Society of America's Arthur L Day Medal (1990); Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Gerhard Herzberg Canade Gold Medal for Science and Engineering (1992); Geological Society's Wollaston Medal (2000). |
