Taught at Berkely, Imperial College London and University fo Manchester ; arrived at University of Western Ontario (1972), becomeing Dean of Science (1988-1990) Geoscientist, contributed ground breaking research on the environmental implications of human energy consumption;
Professor Emeritus from the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Western Australia.
Companion of the Order of Canada: Honorary Doctorate of Science degree from University of Alberta (2006);
