Activity | Career: Began legal training in London (1753) but left (1754); went to Spain and lodged with Don Ricardo Wall (FRS 1753), who obtained for him a commission in Count O'Mahony's regiment of Dragoons (1756); retired to the English Chartreuse, Nieuport, Netherlands and became their prior (in 1764); Minister of Public Instruction (1776); left the Chartreuse and became Prebendary of Courtrai Church (1777); Perpetual Secretary and Treasurer, Royal Academy of Brussels (1786); wrote on the benefits of hemlock and aconite after they apparently cured him of gout Memberships: FSA (1793)
