Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], Secretary, Royal Society |
Date | 19 November 1894 |
Description | Mr Lockyer has just called to ask that his paper on sun spot spectra may be taken this Thursday and Rix has promised to telegraph the Secretaries decision. Lockyer would like it still better if both his new papers were taken this week as he is likely to be away for two or three meetings afterwards. Lockyer is especially concerned with the sun spot paper as he wants to republish it elsewhere.
Lockyer is angry about the delay with his paper on Orion which the Astronomer Royal kept for four months. As the reports are favorable and the illustrations would not cost above a couple of pounds Rix asks if he might not go on with it. Locker is anxious to have the proof for his private use.
