Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt] |
Date | 20 April 1895 |
Description | Professor Karl Pearson suggests a University College Applied Mathematics Department exhibit. Rix encloses Yule's letter about this [not attached]. Also one from Dr Fleming about an instrument for analysing alternating currents. Rix thinks Mr Preece promised to supply the Society with alternating current from the Post Office [for the Soirée], but it would be a somewhat difficult exhibit to arrange for as unless it is distinctly interesting and novel Rix thinks they would rather be without it. Asks to know by Monday morning at the latest if he should accept these two exhibits. |
