| Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to the Editor of The Daily Graphic |
| Date | 1 March 1898 |
| Description | The Royal Society's clerk, Mr James, was right to say that he had no authority to give permission to your artist to make a sketch.
The meetings of the Royal Society are private not public meetings and only Fellows of persons introduced by Fellows are admitted. A while ago there was unwillingness on the part of the Society to give facilities for sketches to be made. Foster will obtain a formal expression of the Council so that he can give the current views of the Society. |
