TitleCopy letter Robert William Frederick Harrison, to H A Bunting, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Near Manchester
Date16 February 1899
DescriptionIn reply to letter, the Committee of the Royal Society which was appointed last year to consider the metric equivalents was a consultative body appointed by the Council at the request of the Board of Trade to confer with that Department of Government, and to settle with its officers the table of equivalents to be embodied in new Orders of Council which were to be issued under the Weights and Measures Act. That Committee therefore did not publish any report but the result of its deliberations in conference with the Board of Trade as they are contained in the Orders in Council. These can be obtained, he thinks, from the Board of Trade.
