Title | Copy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Dr Joseph Larmor, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 27 June 1899 |
Description | Discusses closing up the work of the Committees [before the vacation]. As far as possible all papers in which mathematics was the object have gone to the Mathematics Committee, and those in which maths was used as an instrument in some physical enquiry have gone to the Physics and Chemistry Committee. As to statutes it is true that they have been formally before the Mathematics Committee but Rucker thinks that Francis Galton has been a referee for all or nearly all of them.
Note by Sir M Foster that the Sectional Committees are quite distinct from the Board, which are exclusively Government Grant. |
