Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir William Chandler Roberts-Austen, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 2 June 1899 |
Description | In addition to the subject of the enclosed reference [not attached] Harrison wishes to make the following points. By accident he omitted to bring before the Soiree Sub-Committee an offer by Mrs Ayrton to show some of the experiments with which she illustrated a recent paper at the Institution of Electrical Engineers on the hissing of the electric arc. Supposes the experiments would be striking and desirable and asks to know Roberts-Austen's opinion.
Harrison thinks he is correct in thinking that that matter of Mr Duddell's oscillograph was left over by the Soiree Committee as an open question. Explains why he is against this demonstration for the June Soiree. |
