Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir George Gabriel Stokes, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 12 October 1899 |
Description | In rely to Stokes' note the only matters before them on next Tuesday are, the paper by Godfrey upon which they are awaiting a report, and a paper by [Louis Napoleon George] Filon on bent beams, on which one referee's report is somewhat indefinite, whilst the other is quite definite for rejection. There is also a paper by Mr [Richard Dixon] Oldham on earthquakes regarding which the referee's differ somewhat in the matters of its destination and modification, and a decision is required on the posthumous paper by Mr Sworn.
Hopes these particulars will help clarify is Stokes needs to come up to town for the meeting. |
