| Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to George Fergusson Wilson, Fellow of the Royal Society |
| Date | 3 December 1888 |
| Description | Wilson was not alone in not attending, as only 172 of the 190 who put down their names dined. Although the manager 'mumbled a little', Rix thinks it unlikely that he will send a claim and if not, unlikely that the Royal Society will accept it. Rix hopes he is not unwell after getting wet, and notes that a number of the Royal Society Fellows and himself are suffering from rheumatism. |
