Description | In reply to Darbou'x letter of 29 June to Sir M Foster, in view of Foster;' departure last week for America, the Council of the Royal Society have appointed Professor [Arthur William] Rucker to take Foster's place at the approaching meeting of the Council of the International Association of Academies in Paris on 31 July. Provides Rucker's address.
Regarding Darboux's request concerning the memorandum on the question of the measurement of a geodetic arc of the Meridian, Harrison has been in communication with Sir David Gill and hopes to be able to send 40 copies of the document before now. As soon as the memo arrives he will have it set up in type and the desired copies sent. |
