Title | Copy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to the Secretary to Her Majesty's Treasury |
Date | 9 November 1900 |
Description | Forwards the proposed regulations of the Meteorological Council for superannuation allowances for classified clerks, which have been sent to the Society by the Meteorological Council for communication to the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury. Asks if the scheme is approved by Treasury.
To avoid misapprehension explains the large diminution of expenditure of £1,007 on page 24 of the report of the Meteorological Council for this year, and the large cash balance of £3,702, shown on page 137. Discusses the allowance for Mr R Strachan.
Under the superannuation scheme a sum of about £1,500 will be required every other year to provide allowances. These circumstances make it necessary during the continuation of the pensions of Captain Toynbee and Mr Scott, to set aside £1,300 per annum for pensions and superannuation.
Describes a footnote it is proposed to add to the report. |
