| Title | Copy letter from Arthur [William] Rucker, to Sir [George Gabriel] Stokes, Fellow of the Royal Society |
| Date | 30 April 1901 |
| Description | Edridge-Green has sent the enclosed paper [not enclosed] to draw their attention to his observations. The Royal Society Committee on Colour Blindness recommended the Holmgren [wool] test. Mr Green claims to have shown that persons who pass that test may nevertheless fail to distinguish a red or a green lamp at some distance.
If Green is correct, the decision to alter the recommendation should be considered by [Sir Michael] Foster. Asks whether he thinks it proper to call the Committee together again to take steps in the matter. |
