Title | Copy letter sent from Joseph Larmor and Archibald Geikie, to The Secretary of the Meteorological Council |
Date | 1 March 1904 |
Description | Thanks them for their letter explaining how the Meteorological Council would undertake the tabulation and reduction of the Meteorological Observations made in connection with the National Antarctic Expedition.
Asks what guarantee does the Meteorological Council want in advance of providing £500 to the Royal Society and Royal Geographical Society for preparing the results for publication. The Royal Society thought that the Meteorological Council could undertake the reduction with an expert Committee appointed by the former.
Suggests their plan on cost of publication should not be carried out until they have an idea of what the profitability would be. |
