Description | Foster has been directed to reply to their letter of 27 January on the subject of the Sleeping Sickness disease. Although it is though that the disease is transmitted from man to man, it is not yet conclusively proven, and it will be a key feature of Lieutenant Colonel David Bruce's investigation. Until it is known the Committee cannot authoritatively advise on the dangers of allowing natives to emigrate from the Protectorate to serve as labourers in the Colony. So far it does appear to have spread from tropical to sub tropical countries, or transmitted to white people. |
