Description | Rix submits for approval, at the request of Professor Michael Foster, the minute for their Journal Book, detailed on the back of the letter.
The minute reports that Stokes, President of the Royal Society, stated that it had been resolved by himself and the Council to address a letter to the Lord Mayor of London expressing sympathy with his attempt to obtain public recognition in this country of the services of Monsieur Pasteur to 'Science and Humanity'. The Officers with Sir James Paget, Joseph Lister, Sir Henry Roscoe and Professor Edwin Ray Lankester have been chosen to represent the Society at a meeting called by the Mayor on 1 July. The action of the President and Counil has been approved. |
