Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor John Wesley Judd, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 23 January 1905 |
Description | Judd's letter has arrived and Geikie is obliged for the documents it contained and which he returns herewith [not enclosed]. It is evidently of no use waiting for help from the United States.
They have two questions to decide: what action the Council of the Royal Society is to take in reference to the report of the International Association's Committee on Seismology, and what procedures are they to take to ensure the continuance and strengthening of Milne's work.
Schuster's memorandum as to the deliberation of the International Committee and the course he recommends to be taken in regard to it is now at the printers. As soon as it comes back, Geikie proposes sending copies to the members of the Seismological Committee of the Royal Society and if Judd concurs, a meeting of the Committee may be summoned to consider it. Asks what date would be convenient for this. |
