Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Staff Surgeon E A Shaw, Mediterranean Fever Commission, Malta |
Date | 21 August 1905 |
Description | Acknowledges receipt of Shaw's letter of 15 August. The report Geikie sent to Colonel [David] Bruce last May was sent to the printers and appears in part III of the reports of the Commission. Has ordered another copy of this to be sent to Shaw today. Understands that as publication was urgent, proofs were carefully read by Colonel [David] Bruce. Has no knowledge of the 'inspired articles' as Shaw describes them in the 'London Daily Press'. Feels confident there has been every desire to give full credit to all the observers, and that if any failure in this respect has occurred, it has arisen from oversight.
Colonel Bruce, Chairman of the Commission, is now in South Africa with the British Association, but on his return Geikie will bring Shaw's letter before him. |
