Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Charles Scott Sherrington, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 3 December 1906 |
Description | This matter is incredibly painful and Geikie wishes it to be at an end. Sherrington in his letter said 'if Mr Walker made the accusation attributed to him', but a copy of the letter in which Walker made the accusation has been sent to him. The letter was addressed to [John Bretland] Farmer, who communicated his paper. So serious a view was taken that an apology was requested. This has not been forthcoming. The letter also contains a number of other inaccurate statements. His paper will be treated in the usual course, but all correspondence will be sent through Sherrington, as Geikie declines to deal with the author directly. |
