Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Dr Edward Adrian Wilson |
Date | 2 August 1907 |
Description | Thanks Wilson for his letter of the previous day. Has asked the Clerk in charge at the Royal Society to send Wilson the Aurora Journal in which he will see two or three Aurora drawings which were no doubt in Bernacchi's mind when he proposed that Wilson be asked to draw some more. These were in coloured chalk on a black background. Asks if Wilson can give the essential effects of these and any other types in black and white on a grey ground, as this will save expense. However as Wilson saw the effect himself, Geikie will leave it to him to determine the best course. Does not have the 'South Polar Times' to refer to. Is glad to learn the photographic reproductions by Swan and the Edinburgh firm are making satisfactory progress. Will be glad to go over Wilson's manuscript descriptions with the proofs of the plates when these are ready. |
