Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to William Henry Preece, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 25 July 1890 |
Description | Rix apologises if he expressed himself awkwardly in his previous note. He merely assumed Preece was going to publish the paper which was not printed in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', probably in 'Nature' as that is nearly always done in similar cases and he thought Preece might not be aware of the instructions the President recently gave in writing in consequence of an unpleasant dispute. Rix can better explain the awkward position in which he is often placed when he sees Preece in person but his note was not intended in the way in which Preece seems to have taken it. |
