Description | With reference to the Royal Societies account for £47-3-8 for gas and repairs to the engine sent to the Society of Antiquaries at the beginning of August, Rix is informed by Messrs Drake & Gorham that 39 hours out of the 615 with which the Royal Society are charged for use of the engine were for cleaning and repairing, not for running the engine. Rix therefore gives a corrected statement which concludes that the Society of Antiquaries actually owes the Royal Society £48-6-7. |
