| Description | Harrison thanks Foster for his two letter on the subject of the Library Catalogue. Harrison has received eleven replies out of a possible eighteen, and shall no doubt get three more from the Officers of the Society. The majority of the replies say nothing about a Committee meeting, but Professor Silvanus Thompson thinks it ought to meet, while three think it unnecessary unless there is a difference of opinion, which there so far hasn't been.
There is, so far, only one exception to general approval of the proposed arrangement of the Society Index, and there is a majority in favour of the Clarendon type for principal parts of the titles. Only Sir Joseph Larmor and Thompson support Harrison's own preference for the other type. Harrison gives details of the minor points and Thompson's reasons for wanting the Committee to meet. |
