TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Edward Williams Byron Nicholson, Bodley's Librarian, Oxford
Date17 July 1891
DescriptionRix asks whether the charts of the French Depot de la Maine are currently given to the Bodleian Library, and if not, whether a set extending over several years to the present day would be acceptable.

He explains that the Library Committee of the Royal Society do not intend to continue to accumulate the maps and charts, with the proximity of the Royal Geographical Society amongst other factors making it unnecessary, and so would be prepared, if the French charts would be of use, to ask the French Government to transfer to the Bodleian Library the annual grant of charters currently sent to the Society.
