TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to [John William Strutt] Lord Rayleigh, [Royal Society]
Date20 November 1891
DescriptionRix informs Rayleigh that Dr Hopkinson's paper on 'Dynamo-Electric Machinery' for which he asked for the price, was published at five shillings, and contains 28 pages of press and five large folding plates. He notes that it has been out of print for more than three years.

Dr Alfred Carpenter is noted as having sent in a paper on the chemistry of Croydon Sewage Farms, but despite it not having been regularly communicated by a Fellow of the Royal Society, he has not returned it as he is 'rather a great man'. Rix awaits Rayleigh's instructions on the matter.
