DescriptionRix states that if Ramsay sends in photographs of the curves, they can be considered the illustrations of his paper, and the hand drawn curves can be returned to him. Any not duplicated in this way will be considered the property of the Royal Society, and can be sent to the author by leave of Council.

He also notes that Mr [John] Joly's work, as referred to in his memorandum, did not arrive with his manuscript and diagrams, and they have not yet received it.
