| Description | Mr [William Bate] Hardy's paper was received 17th June 1891, read 18th June, and referred to Marshall 22nd June. In his report Marshall said the paper could with advantage be reduced by a fifth in length. The author's decision to publish without reference to a recently published memoir by a specially competent observer and bearing on the same subject, did not commend itself to Marshall.
In consequence of this and some additional suggestions made by the other referee, Hardy was requested to produce a revise which is now sent. Rix asks if Marshall thinks it advisable to publish the revised paper. |
