Description'Dear Sir,
In answer to your letter of the 30th October, addressed to Lord Rayleigh, I am now instructed to inform you that the question to which it refers is still under consideration by a Committee of the Royal Society, and that Lord Rayleigh fears it will be impossible for him, or, so far as he knows, for any other menber of the Committee to communicate a paper on this question to the meeting of your Institution in February.
