Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Thomas George Bonney, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 16 April 1894 |
Description | 'Dear Sir, It is quite clearly understood that there is no objection to ladies who are the authors of papers read before the Society being present at the reading of their papers, and such lady authors are generally invited also to speak. There is certain doubt whether ladies who come only in the capacity of visitors should be admitted, and, although this has been done several times "sub rosa", their names have not been put down on the visitors list nor their presence offficially recognised by reading from the chair. Yours truly, H Rix Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'. |
