Date | 1 June 1894 |
Description | 'Dear Sir, A letter dated "May 15" was sent by you to Dr Michael Foster at Cambridge: is that the letter you mean? If so, Dr Foster sent it on to me to "keep", and I kept it, but I had no orders to print. The letter which you have just sent me (and which is addressed to nobody, but is probably intended for our President or our Junior Secretary since it begins "My Lord"? will be printed if I can get authority from the Secretaries, but I have no authority to print except by their instructions. I am sending it on to Dr Foster. I am, yours truly, H Rix Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'. |
