| Description | Blackett has arranged with the Prime Minister's Secretary to see him at 5.50 on February 13th. He is writing to ask whether it would perhaps save his time and allow them to get down quickly to practical questions if he or one of his colleagues could let Blackett have before their meeting, some comments on the viewpoints that Blackett was putting forward. Then he would have time to think in detail again about the various possible courses of action. Blackett will, of course, understand if Attlee finds himself too busy to do this, but it would certainly be helpful to Blackett. He realises that Attlee can only spare him a short time when they meet, so it is desirable to have a clear view as to the real points for discussion. He is not clear on this because he does not know all Attlee's reaction to his paper. |
