Text reads: 'The Royal Society 1886. Exhibited by the Royal Geographical Society. Diagram of Mount Roraima, British Guiana, scaled for the first time by Mr. E. Im Thurn Dec. '84. Compare with Mr. Wells's diagram of similar formation in Central Brazil'.

The label has a red ink border and highlighting to the 'T', 'R' and 'S' of The Royal Society. The label was re-purposed: the reverse has a table of attendees at the Royal Society's Committee of Papers, 1889-1890, with dates of attendances.

Sir Everard Ferdinand Im Thurn (1852-1932), was a British colonial administrator, botanist and explorer.
