TitleDisplay label, certain food fishes, exhibited by the Marine Biological Association
Datec.1888
DescriptionExplanatory text intended to be used for an exhibit at Burlington House, during one of the Royal Society's conversaziones of 1889 [the label's date is incomplete, '188 ']. The display 'Larvae of certain food-fishes, together with animals of interest from Plymouth Sound', was exhibited by William Frank Raphael Weldon, on behalf of the Marine Biological Association, on 11 May 1890.

The text has been partially obscured by a pasted-over piece of paper, but reads: 'The Royal Society 188 . Exhibited by the Marine Biological Association. Larvae of certain Food Fishes; with other animals of interest from Plymouth Sound.'

The label has a red ink border and highlighting to the 'T', 'R' and 'S' of The Royal Society. The label was re-purposed: the reverse has a table of attendees at the Royal Society's Committee of Papers, 1891-1892, with dates of attendances.
