Title | Letter, requesting tidal observations from Port Leopold from [George] Henry Richards to Walter White |
Date | 27 April 1869 |
Description | Letter from Richards to White requesting original tidal observations made at Port Leopold by Sir J C [James Clark] Ross. Richards states that the observations had been lent to Professor [Samuel] Haughton who used them to write his paper, 'On the tides of the arctic seas' (manuscript found at PT/68/9-10). A handwritten note in red ink at the top of the letter indicates that the tables were returned to the Admiralty, however the requested observations are included with the letter in this volume on one long fold-out chart.
