Title | Letter from John William Strutt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh, to Richard Threlfall, regarding a paper 'Researches on the electric properties of pure substances.—No. I. The electrical properties of pure sulphur' by Richard Threlfall, Joseph Henry Drapier Brearley and Mr Allen |
Date | 3 January 1895 |
Description | The referees see the value of the work, but both agree it is far too long. The Royal Society has overspent, and cannot afford printing. If the author is in England, requests a revised version of the paper of 1/3 length of the original. If not, suggests the Royal Society undertake revisions on his behalf, but advises he may not find the result fully pleasing. A final option is to send the paper back and await his response.
