Title | Referee's report by John Henry Poynting, on a paper 'The movements of the flame in the explosion of gases' by Harold Baily Dixon |
Date | July 1902 |
Description | Sectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry
Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions, in full. There is no discussion of modification. Regarding illustrations he thinks the spectrum plate may be omitted as it is hardly referred to in the text. One or two illustrations of each series might be omitted but he does not see how any serious reduction of illustrations may be made. If the author believes that all the illustrations are necessary to prove his points, he should recommend that all are reproduced. The photographs are the essence of the paper. They form a beautiful series and it would be unfortunate if the series were much reduced.
