Title | Letter from Max Born, on a paper 'Relativistic equations for elementary particles' by Harish-Chandra to J D Griffith Davies, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society |
Date | 23 March 1947 |
Description | Returns the paper but he isn't satisfied with with the alterations. The footnote says nothing and his remarks are 'rather empty'. He needs to compare his work with other authors on the subject such as Pauli and Fierz. His personal impression is that the author has 'too high an opinion of his own work and contemptuously does not compare it with that of his predecessors'. He may be correct, but the comparison is required for the benefit of the reader.
