Title | Letter from Herbert Harold Read, on a paper 'Red sandstones. An experimental study of the conditions under which they may be formed' by Robert John Strutt, Lord Rayleigh to Alfred Charles Glyn Egerton |
Date | 17 September 1945 |
Description | Thanks him for the letter letting him know that the title is to changes. This change is good but it 'doesn't go far enough to meet all possible geological criticisms'. 'He doesn't think many geologists will bother about this since it it hard enough explaining red sandstone on geological grounds. [Published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, 1940 with the amended title 'Experimental production of red and yellow sandstones from chalybeate water']. |
