Title | Referee's report by Edward Armand Guggenheim, on a paper 'Statistical mechanics and the partition of numbers I. The transition of liquid helium' by H N V Temperley |
Date | 1949 |
Description | Sectional committee: Mathematics
Not recommended for publication. The theme of the paper is a destructive criticism of the distribution law of Bose and Einstein. If the author is correct, the paper will require a more careful exposition. The presentation of the paper is 'rambling, untidy, disconnected and diffuse'. He isn't competent enough to follow the mathematics and hasn't attempted to find the flaw that he suspects to be present.
