Taylor is honoured to be asked to referee Faust's paper, however he lacks the time and 'competence' for a complete mathematical check. Requests permission for his mathematical assistant, Dr P M Barham to undertake the checking, or suggests the appointment of a mathematician to act as a joint referee with him, or a new referee to take on the whole task.
