TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Dr Harold Lane, Astronomy Section, National Science Foundation, 1800 G Street, N.W., Washington DC
Date5 May 1978
DescriptionStates that in lieu of a report of progress in their grant 'Theoretical Solar System Studies', MPS 17838 A02, he is sending him their latest papers and hopes they give some idication of the momentum.

Gold regrets very much that their preoccupation with the Earth gases story caused them to be delayed in the application for a continuation of this grant, and they will now be in a squeeze, especially for the maintenance of Dr Dermott beyond the end of May. He is doing first rate work and they are very anxious to keep him.
